Craft Class Descriptions
Dee Gruenig — Posh
Impressions Stamping Dazzle
How honored we are to have the wonderful Miss Dee join our
group this year when she will squeeze 27 years of teaching
Stamp Art into 3 fabulous hours of tips and great hands on
projects. Join our enthusiastic teacher as she shares her
love of color with her Signature Blending Box, mini-rainbow
pads and Signature Marvy Brush Art Markers as she folds and
stamps on Lucite, paper, a variety of unusual surfaces and
possibly on anybody who stands still too long.
Donna Kato —
Enamel jewelry with polymer clay (new technique!)
& Pigment Ink Cabochons
Think Faberge. Think Tiffany. Think Polymer Clay? You really
can put those names together in one sentence when it's Donna
Kato teaching you one of her two newest techniques. You will
learn how to cut polymer clay stencils and texture plates
used in the enamel process - or - ink, stamp and apply leaf
on clay to create a beautiful cabochon pendant. Learn one
of Donna's newest techniques in her class.
Karen Thomas
When Karen promises us "Fabulous Folding Fun"
we know that's exactly what it will be. She is working on
some new folds and techniques that are top secret at this
time but in general you will learn to make a functional multi-pocket
card case, a little gift box AND a wearable book necklace
embellished with metal charms and trim....a place for all
to autograph and fill with memories during the cruise! Two
of her classes will feature even more fun folding and will
include functional cases, coasters, boxes and maybe a little
napkin folding too. These classes are listed as "More
Fabulous Fun Folding #2"
Priscilla Hauser
Our favorite "You can do it" teacher is back with
us again and this time she is bringing us a lecture with slides
plus a class all in one three hour session as well as a second
class where you will paint a guardian angel on a handkerchief.
The Magic of Zhostovo — Priscilla
visited Russia for the first time immediately after the cold
war ended and learned about these beautiful florals painted
on black trays. Priscilla will explain the history and discuss
how the trays are painted. She will teach you how to paint
a charming Zhostovo Floral on a small tray.
Guardian Angel With Roses — This
Guardian Angel is created from a handkerchief that you will
first decorate with beautiful little roses. Through time as
the years unfold, the stitches of the angel can be undone
and she becomes a beautiful hand painted handkerchief for
someone (a daughter? a granddaughter? a daughter-in-law?)
to carry on her wedding day.
Mary O'Neil —
Embossed Velvet
When you think of Mary O'Neil no doubt the word VELVET immediately
pops into your mind. At least she hopes it does. Matter of
fact, by the time we all board the ship she may have changed
her name to simply Velvet. To those of you who were with us
last time Mary promises no messy projects...nothing but elegant
embossed velvet. In fact, the Velvet Princess promises to
have every student dazzled with a craft that is so simple
to create but so beautiful that even the most experienced
crafter will never get enough. Mary, our Southern belle and
the comic relief in our group, looks forward to seeing familiar
faces and to making new friends.
Tim Holtz — Inking
Magic
Nobody knows what Tim will be teaching on the cruise this
year and knowing Tim chances are, he doesn't either. But one
thing everbody knows is that whatever he comes up with his
classes will be fun, different and very special. Tim will
share techniques using his latest and greatest products in
a project that is sure to keep everyone talking. This is one
you don't want to miss!
Tricia Morris —
Handmade Keepsake Box & Album
Anybody who is involved in Scrapbooking certainly knows the
name Tricia Morris and we are thrilled to have her cruising
and teaching with us this year. Tricia has promised that those
who take her class will disembark the ship with your memorabilia
ready for display! First you will assemble a professional-looking
drop spine keepsake box featuring thick matte board and custom
decorative papers. Next, you'll create a unique handmade book
designed to fit perfectly inside the box. Collect photos and
mementos from ports of call, workshops, and social events
throughout the week and store them forever in this marvelous
keepsake!
Michael Strong —
Cloisonné style rubber stamping
With his years of experience and easy going manner, Michael
is an ideal teacher and crafting cheerleader. He’ll
be leading you in card making classes using his own line of
Cloisonné style rubber stamps. These beautifully detailed
stamps will be used in a variety of ways to make a stunning
suite of art cards. Anyone who knows Michael knows he’s
the king of recycling so don’t be surprised to find
some “interesting” items incorporated into your
projects.
